Delete your Akari account

Delete your account in the app
Akari accounts belong to hosts and co-hosts, and to guests who chose to sign in. To delete yours:
- Open the Akari app and sign in.
- Go to Account and choose Delete account.
- Type your email to confirm, then delete.
Your account is deleted straight away and you are signed out everywhere. We email you to confirm.
What is deleted
- Your name and email, and your account.
- Your notification tokens.
- Every event you host, with all its photos, videos and stories, for every guest. The events and their content are deleted without the 30-day hold that applies to expired events.
This can't be undone.
What we keep
- The accounting record of an event (event name, dates, counts, payments and receipts), with no photos, videos or guest names, for as long as tax and accounting law requires (up to 7 years).
- Records of deletions and staff actions, for security and accountability, for up to 7 years.
- Deleted information may stay in encrypted backups for a short time until they are replaced.
- A copy that a host or guest has already downloaded is theirs to keep; we can't delete it.
Payments made through Apple's App Store or Google Play are also recorded by Apple or Google under their own policies.
Without the app
If you can't use the app, email info@vetech.co.zw from the email address your account uses, and ask us to delete your account. We may ask you to confirm it's you, and we reply within 30 days.
Guests
Guests don't need an account, so there is nothing to delete unless you chose to sign in in the app. To remove what you added to an event, open the item in the gallery and delete it, or ask the host to remove it. Leaving the event takes it off your phone, but your photos stay in the gallery until you or the host delete them or the event expires.
For anything else, email info@vetech.co.zw with the event and your guest name. See our Privacy Policy for more.
